Mummy and Nanny had been preparing the bedroom, putting your sheets on the matress for the moses basket, hanging up your little clothes (you had more than mummy and daddy!)
I left at 12.45 for a midwife appointment, daddy was at work, I went in to see Jo and felt excited and couldnt believe how quick it had gone, mummy loved being pregnant, apart from having SPD it was amazing.
I walked into the room, Jo took mummys blood pressue and this was very very high 205/195, she tested for protein and came back +3, she then listened in for your heartbeat but was unable to find anything, she kept reassuring me saying it may of been her doppler but I was still very concered!!
Jo rang banbury hospital and Mummy was sent straight through, I remember ringing Daddy and telling him that our midwife couldnt find a heartbeat, Daddy assured me everything would be okay.... I had been feeling movements moments before I went into see Jo that day.
We got to the hospital, another midwife used a doppler but could only pick up mummy's pulse.. a lovely midwife took us round to the scanning room, this was the first scan Nanny had ever been to... Mummy looked at the screen and saw your head and your body but it wasnt moving like it usually was, I squeezed daddys hand in complete fear, then we heard the words there was no hearteat. The sonographer was the same lady who had scanned Mummy all the way through her pregnancy. Daddy broke down into tears and Mummy just shouted and screamed I couldnt believe it, our little bundle of joy taken so quickly.
It made mummy feel so awful that she hadnt realised, but mummy had no signs at all :( Mummy had been told the movements she was feeling was her waters.
That night we stayed in hospital, mummy was given a tablet to prepare her body for labour and was told her cervix was in an excellent position and almost ready for labour. The next morning come, mummy had 2 hours sleep and I was induced at 7am, mummy was told her first contraction wouldnt be until around 10am as I was only given small ammounts of the hormone.... how wrong was that! At 10.12am with 3 pushes you were born :)
Mummy and Daddy had mixed emotions, we were happy to finally meet you but so sad we couldnt take you home. You were perfect, you just looked like a beautiful sleeping baby.
We had you dressed in a lovely pink piglet dress, we did have a newborn lovely baby grow but you were too long for it, you definately took after daddy! We had you blessed by the hospital chaplin at 3.05pm in the afternoon.
We all spent lots and lots of time with you and had lots and lots of cuddles and kisses with you. We are blessed to have the photographs we do of you, even the hospital took some for us and sent them through the post on a disk to, everyone was soo lovely and commented on how beautiful you were.
We have your handprints and footprints and a lock of your long dark hair, which started to turn a light blonde :)
We had to say our final goodybyes at 9.05pm that night, Daddy tucked you in cuddling your teddy bear, he wanted to make sure you were warm and comfortable because it was the first night you werent sleeping in bed with Mummy & Daddy.
We bought home your Minnie Mouse lullaby toy which daddy had bought for you :) we wanted this to be safe, this slept with us all night every night up until your funeral. Mummys favourite lullaby was "Tiny Tears" and Daddy's favourite was "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
